The Hardy 50 is a tough, Category A bruiser with excellent aft cabin accommodation
Launched by the Norfolk yard in 2004, at the time, the Hardy 50 was the largest boat the yard had ever produced and was introduced as a larger version of the 42.
The layout is very similar too, offering the same three cabins, albeit with twin bunks in the third cabin rather than a single berth.
Andrew Wolstenholme designed the hull, as he did for the 42 and all the larger Hardy boats. The round-bilge semi-displacement hull has a fine entry to avoid slamming before filling out further aft to provide generous internal volume.
A Design Category A (Ocean) RCD rating bears testimony to the boat’s all-weather ability.
The huge internal volume and clever layout lends itself perfectly to extended periods on board. The master suite, for example, feels more like a bedroom than a cabin.
Situated aft and fitted with a queen-sized double bed, it’s a big square room with masses of hanging space, storage and even a proper dressing table, not to mention its own custom-installed surround sound system of course – the perfect retreat of an evening.
