Chris Jefferies heads down to Chichester to inspect a Rodman 1250 – a fine example of this tough Spanish brand’s all-weather sportsfisher range
With almost two decades in production, the Rodman 1250 is a design with serious longevity and in this month’s used boat report we find out why.
Launched in the late 1990s by Vigo-based Rodman Polyships, the 1250 is a fast fisher designed to shrug off rough conditions.
We’ve spoken to Rodman owners who have been deep-sea fishing in the snow and have cruised as far north as Greenland and Iceland.
However, for this video we opted for the sheltered comforts of Chichester marina, where a particularly well-kept 2011 model is up for sale.
Key features include the walkaround side decks and open-plan cockpit – perfect for reeling in a particularly tricky catch, but just as handy if you have small children or pets on boards.
Our full report on the Rodman 1250 will be published in the February edition of Motor Boat & Yachting, which is out on January 7.
