One of the earliest models to come with Volvo IPS, the Prestige 42S still punches well above its weight
When it comes to hardtop sportscruisers in the 40ft bracket, you’ll be hard pressed to find better value than the Prestige 42S.
Built by Jeanneau from 2007 to 2011, this 43ft model proved highly popular with more than 170 hulls built.
In this video, we head down to Swanwick Marina to inspect a 2008 model with 420 engine hours on the clock, which is on sale for less than £150,000 through Clipper Marine.
On board, we found many impressive features that are normally reserved for much larger vessels, including a spacious full-beam master cabin.
Elsewhere, the electric convertible sunroof opens up the cockpit to the elements, while the cavernous garage can easily swallow up a sizeable tender.
The Prestige 42S came exclusively with Volvo Penta’s IPS 500 pod-drive system, which means a top speed of 35 knots and exceptionally easy mooring manoevures.
