To give the new Broom 430 a proper sea test, Nick Burnham has taken the aft cabin cruiser across the Channel to Jersey
In our latest boat test video, Nick Burnham crosses the Channel for the first time in 25 years at the helm. And he does it in style by picking the brand new Broom 430 for his passage to Jersey.
Setting off from Southampton, we set a course for St Helier and manage a comfortable cruising speed of 22 knots.
While at sea, Nick finds that the semi-displacement hull does a great job of diverting spray away from the cabin and the ride is surprisingly smooth.
Once moored up in Jersey, Nick examines the layout and is pleased to report that the Broom is easy to move around, with sloping gunwhales meaning that disembarking amidships can be done without the need for a ladder.
