15 years on from its launch and the Azimut 55 still stands out for its cutting-edge styling and spacious accommodation
Azimut Yachts has always been a yard to pride itself on cutting-edge styling and the Azimut 55 is a fine example of that.
In this month’s Used Boat report, we head to Chichester marina to inspect one of these early ’00s flybridges, which still looks ahead of its time – a full 15 years after it was first unveiled.
A lot of that is to do with the clever design of the cockpit windows, which jut up from the sheerline like a pair of shark fins.
This is made possible by the use of one-way mirrored glass, which conceals the flybridge supports and keeps the sweeping lines intact.
There’s much more to the Azimut 55 than just designer flourishes, however, as the well-thought-out central helm station and spacious below-decks accommodation bear testament to.
