From the same design partnership that brought you the R35 superboat, the Princess Y85 is a feast for the eyes. Nick Burnham takes us on a full tour...
As if they needed introducing, Italian design house Pininfarina has styled some of the most iconic Ferraris of all time, and their influence is clear on this 26.6m flybridge, which was given its global debut at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival.
The Y85 sports sleek exterior styling and naval architecture from Princess’s long-term design partner Olesinski, but her interior is arguably even more impressive, with room for eight guests in four cabins, as well as proper crew quarters that can accommodate up to three staff members.
Nick takes us through the entire yacht from transom to bow, lingering in the engine room to admire the Y85’s twin 1,900hp MAN V12 units, which deliver a top speed of 33 knots out on the open water.
The Plymouth-based yard is understandably very proud of its 54-year history, and if this Y85 is anything to go by, the future of Princess Yachts is looking very bright indeed…
