Editor Hugo gives you a guided tour of the new Azimut Magellano 66 from the Cannes Boat Show
The Cannes Boat Show saw the launch of the Azimut Magellano 66, the fourth model in Azimut’s range of stylish trawlers.
Until this point we have always been left wanting by the use of space on board, in comparison to more voluminous trawler rivals.

But things are a little different on the 66, which we reckon is the best Magellano model yet. Not only do the proportions of this boat do wonders for the Magellano’s looks but Azimut has clearly worked hard to create the sort of space on deck and below that buyers expect.
The are four cabins on board the 66 with the obligatory ensuite master cabin amidships and spacious VIP in the bow with two guest cabins; one twin and one bunks.
There is only one engine option – the D13 800s from Volvo Penta – and Azimut claims a top speed of 22 knots yet a 1,000nm range if you slow it down to 8 knots.
The brief was to create the feeling of a superyacht on a 20m boat and in many ways Azimut has succeeded.
