Feast your eyes on the first launch from Hardy Marine since it was snapped up by new owners Windboats in January.
Still designed by Andrew Wolstenholme, the Hardy 40DS sets out the new owner’s ambition to create more bespoke vessels without losing the range’s seakeeping abilities.
Windboats says the boat can reach speeds of 19 knots, but is more comfortable at 10 to 12 knots with a single engine setup, although there’s a twin engine option, too.
The interior, which has been created and styled by Chris Lock of CSL Yacht Design, incorporates a two-cabin arrangement – with one twin and one double – and a toilet compartment with separate shower stall. The saloon has single level seating, a dining area and a galley. Foldaway doors enable the cockpit and its seating area to create one big social area with the saloon.
The first model is under construction at the Hardy Yard and will be available for viewing at the London Boat Show in January 2014 priced at around £425,000. There will also be a flybridge version.
