New pontoons ready for the Easter weekend with free berthing on Friday
Yarmouth Harbour, on the Isle of Wight, announced this
morning that their new pontoons, which are capable of berthing 50 RIBs, or 15
boats of up to 10m loa, are fully installed and ready for the weekend.
To promote the opening of the new berths and make the most
of the bank holiday weekend, all visiting RIBS will not be charged for berthing Friday 20th April.
Charlotte Hudson, deputy Harbourmaster, said, “These
pontoons provide a much-needed, safer, easily accessible berths for ribs and
small vessels and are a vast improvement for the harbour.”
Over the past year more than £1.5 million has been spent on
improvements to the harbour, including new toilet facilities, which opened in
August.
