Incoming 30-footer replaces the 28 Ghibli and will hit 46 knots with top engines
The new Windy 29 COHO will take over from the 28 Ghibli when it is launched at January’s Dusseldorf Boat Show.
It uses the same hull as the outgoing 28 albeit with tweaks – it’s longer by 470mm and there’s a 900mm extension to the bathing platform.
Other changes include the Zonda-like styling with the gill-shaped hull windows and more rakish slope from stem to stern.
On board the cockpit will mimic that of the 31 Zonda and 26 Kharma too, with more modern materials and snug helm seats to hold you tight when the going gets rough.
The rest of the cockpit is dedicated to lapping up the sun in either the U-shaped dinette of the slab of sunpad aft.
If the sun is too fierce the folding bimini system first seen on the Zonda is an option here too.
Down below you can expect a simple layout with a convertible dinette forward, a compact galley and separate bathroom all finished to Windy’s usual high standards.
Engine options range from a single Volvo D4-260 up to twin D3-220s, this latter set-up giving the COHO an estimated top steep of 46 knots with plenty of torque.
