An Adjournment Debate on Wednesday will focus on the impact of DEFRA's cuts
A debate will take place on Wednesday in the House of Commons over “the impact of grant reduction on the work of British Waterways (BW)”.
BW has seen its grant cut from £62.6m to £55.4m this year due to official mismanagement at its parent organisartion, DEFRA. A detailed rundown of exactly why DEFRA is cutting waterways grants is available in December’s MBM, out 16 November.
The waterways minister, Barry Gardiner MP, will attend.
The debate will take place from 2.30pm-4pm in Westminster Hall. Members of the public are permitted to attend, but entrance will be on a first come first served basis.
