MBY has teamed up with The Yacht Harbour Association to recognise excellence in the marina sector
Motor Boat & Yachting has teamed up with The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) to help find winners for the inaugural GJW Marina of the Year awards to be handed out in February next year.
The awards are the first of their kind in the marina sector, and have been designed to help drive up standards and recognise truly outstanding berthing facilities, both in the UK and abroad.
Voting is done exclusively by marina customers – this really is a consumer award – and nominations are now open for all marinas that are part of the TYHA’s Gold Anchor scheme, the world’s foremost and most recognisable marina quality guide.
MBY will sit on a panel of judges alongside our sister magazine Practical Boat Owner and others in January to help decide the winners of these prestigious awards.
There are four categories:
British marina of the year
Inland marina of the year
International marina of the year
Employee of the year
Nomination forms should now be available at your Gold Anchor-rated marina, or you can download the form for your British marina of the year here, and international marina here.
You must be a berth-holder of the marina you’re nominating, although entries from visiting boaters will be considered at the judges’ discretion. The number of berths in a marina will be taken into consideration when counting nominations and calculated on a % of capacity basis.
The category winners and three runners-up in each category will be announced at an awards ceremony scheduled for February 5 in Kensington, London.
