The somewhat clouded issue over the three bonus points awarded to Victory 77 following the Scandinavian Grand Prix at Trondheim in Norway on August 7, and then taken away has been resolved following the appeal of driver Mohammed Al Marri and Jean Marc Sanchez, heard at the 78th UIM General Assembly in Doha on Saturday.
The somewhat clouded issue over the three bonus points awarded to Victory 77 following the Scandinavian Grand Prix at Trondheim in Norway on August 7, and then taken away has been resolved following the appeal of driver Mohammed Al Marri and Jean Marc Sanchez, heard at the 78th UIM General Assembly in Doha on Saturday.
The UIM Appeal Board declared the appeal upheld. three bonus points will be allocated to boat 77 for the using of one set of engines in the second round of the world offshore championship on July 7 and again at the same venue on August 14.
The outcome of the ruling effects the overall championship standings; Victory 77 is now outright third with 34 points and Negotiator fourth with 31.
