Renamed Cowes-to-Monte Carlo race gains support from engine makers

Three major engine suppliers have agreed to support next year’s Cowes-to-Monte Carlo Venture Cup event by visiting all stop-over venues along the route with fully fitted vehicles carrying mechanical spares and supplies.
E.P. Barrus will be looking after craft powered by Mercury inboard and outboard units and Yanmar diesels and drive systems. Ilmor will be backing their range with Steyr Motors doing the same.
Discussions are ongoing with FPT who are likely to follow suit as at least four entries will be using Fiat engines.
Race logistic sponsors, Peters & May, are guaranteeing to ship spares, drive legs, props etc to the boats overnight should they be needed.
