The Essex Hydroplane Racing Club has announced they will be organising a major circuit racing on London’s Royal Victoria Dock over the Bank Holiday weekend on August 24-26. The event will be the first to be held on the Royal Victoria Dock since the now defunct London Motor Boat Racing Club staged a major international meeting in 1987. The August programme will have a similar packed programme of races including a round of the Formula 2000 world championship series which caters for Formula I hulls using standard production two-litre outboards. Apart from this, the Essex Club will also be staging a world championship meeting for Formula 850 (Formula 4) at the National Watersports Centre in Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham, on September 21/22 together with a major circuit race in Dublin in June.
