Phase I of the Swanwick Marina revamp is complete, Premier Marinas has announced
Work to upgrade Swanwick Marina has reached the halfway point, with various new facilities added to the Premier Marinas property.
Phase I of the £5.8m redevelopment project is now complete and has seen the construction of a new hoist bay, which allows larger boats to be lifted for long periods during the day.
In addition, the new high-speed fuel pontoon is said to be a first for a UK coastal marina, as it also offers pump-out facilities and an area for boats awaiting dry stack and boatyard services.
The Hambleside marina is due to get a new dry dock before the end of the year, allowing storage of 80 boats measuring up to 10 metres.
Owner Premier Marinas estimated that Phase II of the project will be completed by March 2015. This will include new boat sales offices, all of which have already been let to boatyard businesses.
Situated on the river Hamble, Swanwick Marina was built in the 1970s and has berths measuring up to 20 metres.
