Plans for the redevelopment of Swanwick Marina are to be put on hold pending the outcome of a public inquiry
Plans for the redevelopment of Swanwick Marina on the River Hamble are to be put on hold pending the outcome of a public inquiry. A Government spokesman said that Hazel Blears, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, “considers that the proposals may conflict with national policies on important matters and could have significant effects beyond their immediate locality.”
No date has yet been set for the inquiry. A spokesman for Premier Marinas said that the company is very confident of its case for the redevelopment of the marina, but is very frustrated that the £40 million project could now face a delay of up to 12 months.
