Suzuki develops joystick control for its outboards

New joystick system was unveiled at the Japan International Boat Show

Suzuki is to join Yamaha and Mercury in developing a joystick control system for its outboard engines.

The new system will integrate with Suzuki’s proprietary Precision Control system, available with its top-of-the-range DF250AP and DF300AP models.

Not much more is known about the joystick at present, which was only unveiled this month at the Japan International Boat Show in Yokohama.

From the initial drawings, however, it’s apparent that the joystick system will offer compatible boats complete 360° movement.

The company has promised more information about the new system in the summer.

Yamaha launched their first ever joystick system for outboard engines at the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show in January.
