Sunseeker International has taken the unusual step of recognising and commending its top suppliers for performance excellence
The British luxury motoryacht builder and designer, Sunseeker International, has today recognised the role of its top suppliers in the company’s success. Managing Director Robert Braithwaite MBE awarded the first ‘supplier accreditation’ at 0800 this morning on their Southampton Boat Show stand, F1.
This award, the first of 50, is the first fruit of a supply partnership initiative launched at last year’s London Boat Show 2000, intended to improve performance in the key areas of delivery, quality, customer service and cost. Encouraged by the success of the scheme within its first year, Sunseeker now intends to roll out the scheme across its entire supplier base.
Sunseeker Operations Manager Geoff Kemp said the suppliers welcomed the chance to get more closely involved with what is regarded as a very successful worldwide production operation. “The results so far are a total success,” said Mr Kemp, “and confirm our conviction that supply partnerships are the way forward to support Sunseeker’s high aspirations for the future: not only to be the best, but to increase the distance between ourselves and the competition.”
