Would you like to test-drive 155ft superyachts for a living? Sunseeker has announced details of what they’re describe as a ‘dream job’
Anyone with even a dash of ambition will have come up with their dream job at some point over the years, and now Sunseeker is offering to make that dream come true for one lucky skipper.
The Poole-based superyacht manufacturer is advertising for the role of superyacht yard captain, which involves daily test driving and commissioning of vessels measuring up to 155ft.
There will be chances to get hands-on with every Sunseeker model over 24-metres in length, including the 28M, the 116 Yacht and the upcoming 131 Yacht.
It’s not all messing around in boats, however, as the successful candidate will also have to perform quality checks on the nav gear and liaise with Sunseeker’s highly demanding customers during the handover process.
Sian Thomas, human resources director at Sunseeker, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and dream job. Our new superyacht yard captain will be an integral part of the team.
“The captain will get to experience the quality of our vessels out on the water on a full-time daily basis, whilst still being able to go home every night.”
Successful candidates will need a wealth of skippering experience as well as a Coastguard certificate of competence for vessels over 3,000 tonnes.
And you’ll need to be quick about it – the deadline for applications is Sunday (March 15). For full details, read the job description on IBI Jobs.
