Nottingham Trent students show their flare with historic boat paintwork design
Students at Nottingham Trent University have designed the
graphics and décor for the boat that will represent Nottinghamshire
in the Thames Jubilee Pageant.
The design was chosen by a judging panel, featuring Sir
Andrew Buchanan, the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire and Cdr Peter Moore,
the former High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire.
Juliet Gooden, part of the design team, told the BBC News
website, “The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is a great celebration and we feel
extremely privileged to have been chosen.
“We hope the Queen likes it.”
The boat, which will have injured soldiers, county
representatives and members of the public on board, features a themed design
that incorporates Robin Hood and Nottingham Castle.
The Thames Jubilee takes place on 3 June and celebrates 60
years of Her Majesty the Queen on the Throne.
