Four stowaways, one of whom was dead, have been found in a British powerboat.
Four stowaways, one of whom was dead, have been found in a British powerboat being transported by road from Athens to Plymouth. Negotiator, a £1.5 million catamaran was aboard one of two team lorries returning late last week from the Class 1 Greek Grand Prix.
Members of the Chris Parsonage Racing Team discovered the stowaways after hearing banging coming from the inside of the boat shortly after crossing the Italian border into France. It is thought that the stowaways got into the boat while the team’s lorries were taking the ferry crossing from Greece to Italy.
Several Italian powerboat teams returning from the Greek event also reported finding stowaways. French Police say the stowaways could have been part of organised trafficking.
