A speedboat driver had some explaining to do after his boat took off and landed on a Scottish golf course yesterday. It ended up in a bunker by the sixth green on the world famous Loch Lomond course designed by Tom Weiskopf.
Two French golfers were playing the hole when the boat, named Final Fling, landed beside them. “The boat clipped the sand and flew about 30 yards through the air,” said Claude Bieth, “it seemed to go in slow motion and came to a halt in a bunker.”
The boat was launched into the air after hitting a wave, and the driver was thrown out. Fortunately he was uninjured and managed to swim safely ashore.
