Western Isles draw scores of craft - and who could blame them?
South Coast boaters are flocking to Oban on the west of Scotland, marina bosses say.
The revamped marina on the Isle of Kerrera is going from strength to strength, with manager Susan Price reporting: “Many of our winter long-stay bookings were from clients normally based down in the South who took advantage of the facilities and competitive rates we can offer.
“It’s a great base for an extended cruise or tour of the uncrowded waters and cruising grounds around the islands.”
More than 100 sail and motor boats have passed through the marina over the winter, she says, as the spectacular cruising ground begins to attract more powered craft, alongside the many sailors who travel north for the Classic Malts Cruise in July and other events.
