Seven people have been rescued from a trip boat which sank in Lynmouth harbour today
Seven people have been rescued from a trip boat which sank in Lynmouth harbour today. Ocean Blue, a 10m catamaran which takes parties on sightseeing and wildlife cruises, is thought to have been holed when it struck a post after its engine failed.
Five passengers were rescued by a nearby vessel and landed on the beach at Lynmouth. The remaining two crew were airlifted off the vessel by a rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor after Ocean Blue began to heel to 45 degrees.
Ocean Blue subsequently sank in 3 metres of water on the eastern side of the fairway into the harbour.
