New model takes many styling cues from larger Fly 45
Sessa’s assault on the 40-50ft flybridge market continues with the news the Italian yard will unveil a new Fly 40 at the upcoming Barcelona Boat Show.
The model follows the Fly 45, presented at the Cannes Boat Show in September, and takes many of its styling cues from its larger sibling.
That distinctive privacy shade to the rear of the cockpit remains, as do the large feature windows in the topsides.
And like the 45, Sessa’s new 40-footer was designed for Volvo Penta’s IPS pod drives. It will be powered by twin 400-500hp diesels, which should see the boat to around 30 knots.
Through the cockpit doors, the Fly 40 has a run of L-shaped saloon seating that pulls out into a sofa bed, in front of which sits an adjustable double bench helm seat.
Down the companionway, the yard claim to have squeezed in the same galley as the one found on the Fly 45, complete with 165lt fridge and Miele electric oven.
Beneath the stairs, Sessa have even found room for a 6kg washing machine – making it one of the few 40ft boats out there with this option.
The accommodation comprises a twin cabin amidships and a forward master, both of which get ensuite heads with separate shower cubicles.
