The Italian performance diesel maker has appointed a new distributor for the UK and Ireland
EP Barrus, the Oxfordshire-based distributor best known for its handling of Mariner outboards and Yanmar diesels in the UK, has been appointed by Italian high performance marine diesel engine manufacturer SeaTek as its exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland.
SeaTek is the brainchild of Italian Fabio Buzzi and its engines have powered many successful racing boats and record breakers over the past decade.
As well as selling into the the marine recreation market, EP Barrus also does a significant proportion of its business in the military market. It’s there that the company is first introducing SeaTek’s 1,500hp Dyno engine. However, Barrus managing director Robert Glen said that these top-end engines, which complemented its existing inboard and sterndrive engine offering, were being evaluated for potential launch on the recreational marine market.
