Sarah Donohue out to prove her worth in Vigo
Offshore enthusiast, Sarah Donohue, is moving crews in the P1 SuperSport class. She will switch from being navigator in the Al&Al team’s Big Sergio and take the pilots’ wheel in Phoenix for this weekend’s Vigo Grand Prix of the Sea in northern Spain.
Although she has a wealth of offshore racing experience mainly as co-driver/navigator in a variety of other categories this will be Sarah’s first experience as driver in a round of the P1 powerboat championships, She’ll be partnering Phoenix team boss and throttleman Martin Lai for the event in the Mercruiser-powered Formula 382 FASTech hull. She replaces his regular pilot, Andreas Chalkiopoulos, who is recovering from a recent back operation and hence cannot compete.
