After an action-packed season, the RYA National Powerboat Racing Championship teams faced difficult but spectacular offshore powerboat racing in Portsmouth last weekend. Billed as the National Finals, it offered competitors their last opportunity to gain all-important RYA points.
Among the results was the crowning of Mike and Dave Deacon in Hot Lemon as National Offshore Formula X champions.
In addition to the Championship races, the basic race saw 17 entries as novices competed against the best in the sport in one of the most exciting events of the weekend. Spectators lined the promenade to watch as boats from all of the Offshore Classes hurtled around the course.
