Record for rounding Malta could easily be broken on May 5
On May 5, some 20 of the world’s finest P1 powerboats will gather off Sliema, Malta, at 2.45pm in readiness for a ‘Round-the-Island’ record breaking attempt. The occasion also signals the start of the Maltese Grand Prix of the Sea.
The current record of 34 minutes 2.84 seconds was set by Kerakoll, the Italian muscle-machine of Mario Invernizzi, when the P1 World Championship visited Malta in 2005.
