Date change gives P1 teams an opportunity of competing in British marathon
The Tunisian authorities have moved the date of the P1 Tunisian Grand Prix of the Sea to accommodate those teams hoping to compete in the Round Britain Offshore Race starting from Portsmouth on June 21.
Teams planning to compete in both the P1 World Championship series and Round Britain faced a logistical dilemma before the Tunisian Grand Prix was moved to July 11-13, three weeks later than originally published.
“We are very pleased that P1 has been able to change the date,” explains Vee Gangavian, owner and throttleman of VoomVoom.com.
“It is not easy to alter a world championship and this news shows a great commitment by P1 Management. It is an act of considerable sportsmanship and one which demonstrates an understanding of the bigger picture as well as a respect for the sport and its other racing disciplines.”
“To be able to combine the jewels of offshore, the Round Britain with the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes, and also compete in the full P1 series is a powerboater’s dream. The season cannot come soon enough for VoomVoom.com.”
