Two iconic Italian brands unite to create the Fiat 500 Riva
What it does best
Meanwhile, back doing what it does best Riva has announced the launch of the Rivamare.
Following in the hallowed footsteps of such design greats as the Aquariva Super and Aquarama the Rivamare is being made on a dedicated production line in a brand new facility on the shores of Lake Sarnico.
Riva makes no excuses about the fact that primarily the Rivamare is designed to go well and look sensational. Yes it has sleeping accommodation, a bathroom and galley but really this boat is about glamorous day boating and the ability to blast along at a top speed of 40 knots.
There are no angles from which this boat looks anything other than jaw dropping thanks to Riva trademarks like that sumptuous bow, sleek windscreen and irresistible tumble home stern.
Traditional as the profile may be the propulsion system is thoroughly modern in the shape of twin Volvo Penta D6 400hp diesels on sterndrives.
The last thing you want is to glide into some glittering Med hotspot and struggle to come alongside so to that end the Rivamare comes as standard with Volvo’s sterndrive joystick system.
The Rivamare will be unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
