The UK's only show dedicated to RIBs
RIBEX 2008 takes place at Cowes Yacht Haven on the Isle of Wight from 9-11 May.
Sponsored by Suzuki, the show is in its ninth year and features an impressive line-up of new products. It is the UK’s only show purely dedicated to RIBs.
World launches include the first ever 11m Flybridge RIB from Redbay.
New too are the Ilmore-engined Artic Blue 29 RIB (pictured with different engine set-up), tested and lauded by MBY last year, and the new cabin RIB ‘Sting’ from Scorpion.
There is also a 13m quadruple-rigged Richard Gilpin RIB carrying a total of 1200hp.
Hockley Marine will be displaying the flagship of the Capelli RIB range, the Tempest 900 WA Cabin RIB, while visitors can also see the new Tempest 690, based on the hull of the Rubson Raid.
As part of their centenary celebrations, this year’s BRP display at RIBEX will showcase Evinrude outboard engines past and present.
On display at the show for the first time will be the Evinrude E-TEC 300hp engine, as will Yamaha’s flagship model, the new 350hp engine.
The waterside tented village area of the show site will feature Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, BRP, KMO Chandlery, RIB Shop, Gecko, Scorpion, Shock Mitigation, BHG Avon, Raymarine, Navico, Plastimo, Garmin and a variety of other exhibits.
The Antarctic Scientific Research Organisation will be making an appearance. Visitors will have opportunity to meet the team and learn how they can share in the organisation’s work.
There are daily prizes to be won and a selection of food outlets.
Visitors can get to the show in their own boats, or use the Red Funnel high-speed ferry from Southampton, which lands adjacent to the show site, and for which tickets are discounted by 50%. See the show website for details.
