Two men were rescued by helicopter after their Rigid Inflatable slammed into a moored yacht near Falmouth yesterday evening. Neither man was seriously injured but the yacht, with the RIB embedded in its side, later sank.
Falmouth lifeboat, a Royal Navy Sea King helicopter from RNAS Culdrose, police and a coastguard team were called to the incident which took place on the Penryn river. Navigation warnings have been issued warning river users to avoid the sunken vessels.
Police are investigating the collision, and one of the rescued men has been taken into custody for questioning.
