Powerboat racing returns to Ramsgate, Kent, this weekend (July 1 and 2).
The event takes place from 10.30am-3pm is expected to draw large crowds to the town the main attraction being inshore Thundercats, the closed canopy V24 powerboats and hovercraft surging across the sands. Others battling for points in the national championship will be competitors in RIBs (rigid inflatable boats) and Formula 2 craft. There will also be junior races in three different classes.
There will also be a full programme of activities on land. Local bands will be providing non-stop music. These will be accompanied by street entertainers, a fun fair, and a French market while a spectacular firework display will be held from 10pm on Saturday evening.
The event is jointly organised by Thanet District Council, Ramsgate Town Partnership and All Hallows Yacht Club.
