New marina with stunning views in the heart of Poole
A new marina in Poole Harbour, with views over Brownsea Island, will open in April of this year.
The new site is being developed by Poole Quay Boat Haven, who operate a 125-berth marina on Poole Quay, in time for the Olympic Games in 2012.
The £1 million project, which will be located on the former ro-ro ferry berth, is part of a £25 million masterplan to transform the port.
The marina will cater for 59 boats between 10 and 15 metres in length and have 8 deep-draught superyacht berths.
Poole Quay Boat Haven’s John Binder said: “This was born out of an idea to create new facilities in time for the 2012 Games, but even without that event demand for good quality berths in Poole is high.
“With the 2012 Games sailing event happening in Weymouth and Portland, Poole provides a very attractive alternative.”
