Watch out for a nuclear submarine under the Solent on 23 October
Boaters may get a surprise on Saturday 23 October as a nuclear submarine will be lurking beneath the Solent.
The sub will travel from the Nab Tower to Portsmouth Harbour as part of a five day visit to the port.
A notice to mariners has been issued by the Queens’s Harbour Master warning vessels in the area of the sub’s movements and its classification as a vessel constrained by draught.
The submarine will be escorted by tugs, which will be displaying the correct signals for a vessel constrained by draught and police boats who will ensure boaters adhere to the 100 metre exclusion zone.
