The trawler yacht specialist has released details of its next model in development – the Nordhavn N59 Coastal Pilot
Further details have emerged about the latest Nordhavn model in development.
Called the Nordhavn N59 Coastal Pilot, the new trawler will be powered by twin Cummins QSM 11 engines generating 715hp each.
Nordhavn estimates that its design will offer a top speed of 20 knots and the fuel capacity of 1,100 gallons will give a maximum cruising range in excess of 1,000 miles when the speed is reined in.
Despite its offshore credentials and CE Category A rating, the Nordhavn N59 Coastal Pilot is geared towards coastal cruising, hence the name.
Neil Russell, director at Nordhavn Europe, said: “We find that the vast majority of our owners are only ever looking to coastal cruise in their displacement Nordhavns, despite being proud of their boat’s capability of crossing oceans.”
Fit and finish
As the renderings above show, the N59 Coastal Pilot is well set-up for entertaining, with a vast flybridge that can seat up to 12 people.
What’s more, the lower helm station in the main saloon offers a more sociable option for skippers who want to chat with their crew on long passages.
Below decks, owners can choose between the two and three-cabin layout options, and on-board specification is every bit as extensive as you would expect from a long-distance cruiser, including a washer/drier and fridge/freezer.
The first semi-displacement hull is due to be completed at the company’s Chinese factory by the end of the month.
