The Swedish yard has revealed details of its new Nimbus 305 Drophead day cruiser, which promises a comfortable ride at all speeds
Nimbus has revealed the first model in a new range of open boats called the Nimbus 305 Drophead.
This 32ft day cruiser was announced at the recent Düsseldorf Boat Show and shares the same hull platform as the recently launch Nimbus 305 Coupé. The first models are due to roll off the production line in March.
Nimbus explains that the idea is to create a comfortable ride at all speeds up to 22 knots with no perceivable planning threshold.
Joacim Gustavsson, head designer at Nimbus, said: “We are turning to those looking for a wonderful and comfortable boat trip with focus on socialising and where speed is not the most important factor.”
Powertrain options are the same as the 305 Coupé – single Volvo Penta D3 engines (110-220hp) or the eco-friendly Torqeedo Deep Blue electric alternative.
Interior styling is typically Scandinavian with Mahogany woodwork and lacquered surfaces. Key features include wide side decks for ease of crewing, two double cabins below decks, a single-level main deck, and a powered canvas hood cover.
However, with a name that evokes classic British convertible sportscars, this boat is designed to be driven with the top down. For that reason, Nimbus has chosen Sunbrella upholstery that is both salt water and UV resistant.
UK prices and delivery dates are yet to be confirmed, but the Nimbus range is imported into Britain by Offshore Powerboats of Lymington. To see more pictures of the Nimbus 305 Drophead, click on the slideshow below:
