A huge new floating yacht-shaped hotel is to be moored in London’s Docklands. Newham Council has granted permission for the purpose-built vessel to be moored in the Royal Victoria Dock on a 15-year lease.
The 119m long vessel, which will be 18m wide and have a height from its waterline of 15.6m, will be operated by Finnish company Sunborn Hotels. It will offer 153 rooms, with on board facilities including restaurants, a health spa, and office and conference facilities.
The new vessel will replace a much smaller ‘yacht’ which was relocated to Nigeria last year.
