Carl Richardson will officially take over from Simon Collis on 9 July
MBM has a new editor!
New man Carl Richardson will officially take over from Simon Collis on 9 July.
Carl began working at IPC Media in 2001. Back then he was a staff writer on MBM, but rose through the ranks to technical editor, before being offered the helm of Britain’s best-selling motorboating magazine.
Simon leaves the magazine after overseeing a period of sustained growth in circulation and said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my two years at the MBM helm, and I’m delighted to hand over to someone as talented as Carl. Anyone who has seen him drive a boat will know that MBM is about to become the fastest-moving and most exciting marine magazine around, and I’m sure he’ll be a hit with existing and new readers.
“A big thank you to the readers, forumites and industry figures with whom I have become friends over the last couple of years – hopefully some of you will keep in touch.”
Carl, who is also expected to become a new father within days, said: “Having been involved with MBM over the last six years it’s incredibly exciting to be handed the helm. This is not only Britain’s biggest selling motorboat magazine but also one that is respected around the world and I’m honoured to be leading it.”
