Aquastar 49 to replace the legendary 48 from 2003
The new Aquastar 49 will add a modern twist to a traditional design when it hits the water in 2013.
The 49 Azure – to use its full name – is heavily based on the existing 48 with more contemporary touches taken from the 42 Panoramic, which was launched at September’s Southampton Boat Show.
From the drawing board of Design Unlimited the Aquastar DNA is clear to see with the low freeboard amidships and aft cabin layout. But the use of glass, as seen first in the 42 Panoramic, is likely to transform an already impressive aft cabin in to a truly amazing space.
Elsewhere on board there is the option of having either a third cabin, lower dinette or study amidships and there is the potential to have an inside helm as well as the main helm station on deck.
At the core of the boat is the renowned Arthur Mursell-designed semi-displacemnt hull, which we know is hugely capable whatever the weather. You can spec either single or twin engine installations but Aquastar believes the twin 500hp diesels be most popular and should be good for a top speed in the high twenties.
The optional extras on offer are designed to make life on board as easy and comfortable as possible, like remote control bow and stern thrusters and hydraulic fin stabilizers.
