Heavy rainfall wedges 58ft boat in west Yorkshire
A narrowboat became wedged in a canal due to fast rising water levels. According to British Waterways, a 300 tonne crane was used to lift the 58ft boat above Rochdale Canal, west Yorkshire, and turn it around. The boat was blocking traffic through the canal after a month’s rain fell in just 24 hours. British Waterways said it had been communicating with customers and businesses affected by the flooding.
