The Motor Boat museum at Pitsea, near Basildon in Essex, has been recognised by the Registration panel (MUSE) appointed by the Council for Museums. Following an update in its facilities, the museum that was founded almost 25 years ago now has full registration. This means it qualifies for funding from several official sources including the Heritage Lottery Fund and Area Museum Councils. Official registration will also help the venue to improve and to add to its exhibits so widen the appeal of motor boating history to the general public.
