The new beach moorings would offer superyacht owners an alternative to dropping anchor and thereby disturbing local marine wildlife
The French arm of MDL Marinas has been commissioned to design a new beach mooring for Saint-Tropez’s Plage de Pampelonne.
Local authorities hope that by offering beach moorings superyacht owners can visit the beach without dropping their anchor, which can disturb local marine wildlife.
MDL France will work with Fugro, Innosea and Jifmar to conduct environmental, meteorological, geotechnical and wave studies before submitting a layout design.
A specialist consultancy team from MDL Marinas will also work on the project to install the beach moorings five miles south east of the main Saint-Tropez port and it’s 1,050 berths.
Francois Ricaud, president of MDL France, said: “We are very pleased to have been selected as marina consultant.
“Saint-Tropez is known throughout the world for its status as a luxury boating destination and Plage de Pampelonne is a real jewel in its crown, so it’s a high profile development to be working on.”
