Motor Boat & Yachting magazine kicked off its centenary celebrations with a lavish black tie dinner for the marine industry's top names.
Some of the top names from the marine trade joined the MBY team at the ever-so-smart Stationers’ Hall to help celebrate Motor Boat & Yachting’s centenary. Over two hundred escaped the London Boat Show for the evening, enjoying fine food, even finer drink and a chance to revel in MBY past and present.
Among the happy throng were four of the prestigious list of MBY editors: Alex McMullen, Tom Willis, Alan Harper and our present head honcho Tom Isitt, who cut a dash in a scarily green bow tie.
Guests were entertained by a string quartet and a fantastic brass band, whose renditions of Rod Stewart’s ‘Sailing’ and, of course, ‘Happy Birthday’ saw us through dessert.
Speeches and presentations helped to illustrate the 100 years of motorboating passion behind the magazine, and sitting in the 600-year-old Stationers’ Hall, none of the guests could help but enjoy being a part of history.
