Paul Churchley heads for Newlyn in first leg of trip around Britain
And he’s off?
MBM reader Paul Churchley left this morning on his epic voyage around Britain is his 21ft Jeanneau Merry Fisher 625.
Paul will be updating his blog daily as he attempts the circumnavigation to raise money for the RNLI.
You can also chart his progress using a novel live tracking tool .
Paul’s first stop is Newlyn, and from there he’ll round Land’s End and head up to Padstow before crossing the Bristol Channel for Milford Haven.
In his first blog posting this morning, Paul said: “Finally the weather is looking sensible. It will probably be quite a rough crossing for my little boat but it should be safe and I might even do some planing towards the afternoon? who knows.”
