Day 11
It’s back on the road again for the fleet. After a relaxing stay in Paris the boats were ready to depart at 8 am this morning, and began retracing their steps back down the River Seine. Arriving in Paris last Thursday, the 32 boat strong fleet had four days to take stock and enjoy the many attractions of this romantic, historic city. Open top bus rides were a popular choice with the crews for taking in the sites in the soaring temperatures. Upon arrival fleet had been split in two for the stay in Paris, with boats moored along the Quai de Grenelle, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, while others where tucked up in the Paris Arsenal Marina close to the Bastille. For two days, the MBM team were busying themselves with the re-fueling; a fuel barge had been specifically arranged on this occasion. To conclude the stay in Paris a Gala Dinner was held last night at the restaurant Le Grande des Marches. Over 90 persons attended and enjoyed delicious food in the modern surroundings.
