Eye-catching tri-deck with plenty down below
What they say
“This new tri-deck-style yacht is a substantial vessel. Its expansive length and beam are used to create opulent living accommodations on three separate decks, providing the owners and their guests with a widely variable selection of living and entertaining environments.”
What we say
Enclosed flybridge boats – or tri-deck boats to use Marquis’ terminology – are popular in the US and Australia, and now several manufacturers are attempting to break into the UK market.
Considering the vagaries of British weather, it’s surprising we don’t all have one. The reason why, of course, is simple – looks – Marquis are right in calling the 720 “commanding and aggressive”.
This boat was another of the marque’s Miami Boat Show launches and stood out even in those rarefied environs. Perhaps sensibly, owners can opt for a traditional flybridge layout if they wish.
Nevertheless, look inside and what you get is very appealing. The top deck, offering 360˚ views, has hatches and air-con for temperature control, with a bar and grill on the balcony. Down one level, hand-made leather furniture makes for an impressive seating area, while the galley and serving centre is situated on the same level; a useful feature that is often overlooked by everyone bar the cook.
On the accommodation level, the owner can specify three or four cabins, all ensuite with showers. The owner’s cabin uses the yacht’s full 18ft 4in beam and boasts double sinks and a tub. At the transom, a two-person crew cabin can be specified as a ‘cabaña’ – a convenient spot for changing in and out of swimwear.
As with all Marquis motor yachts, the 720 complies with the RCD.
