Les Scadding and his wife, Samantha Peachey-Scadding, celebrated their £45.5m lottery win on a Princess 58 in Cardiff Bay
The Welsh couple who scooped £45.5m in Saturday’s Euromillions jackpot have celebrated their win by partying aboard a Princess 58 in Cardiff Bay.
Les Scadding, 58, an unemployed mechanic, and his 38-year-old wife, Samantha Peachey-Scadding, became the biggest lottery winners in the UK after one of their two lucky-dip tickets won them £45,570,8345.50.
Initially, Les thought he’d won just £50,000, and it was only when he checked his numbers after rushing home that he discovered he had become an instant millionaire.
“It was a very funny couple of minutes. We just looked at each other while it sunk in,” Les said.
The couple plan to spend their winnings on a house in Barbados, and donate a chunk to a cancer charity and a Birmingham hospital.
Or, alternatively, they could buy around 50 Princess 58s.
